Divide the numerator by the denominator. The quotient is the whole number, and the remainder
over the denominator is the fraction. For 11/4: 11 ÷ 4 = 2 remainder 3, so 2 3/4.

Multiply the whole number by the denominator, add the numerator, and keep the denominator. For
