Two Core Ratio Skills
A ratio compares two quantities, and there are two things students practise most: simplifying a ratio to its lowest terms (like reducing a fraction), and solving a proportion - filling in a missing value when two ratios are equal. This generator builds a fresh worksheet for either skill, or a mix of both, with a matching answer key.
To simplify, divide both parts by their greatest common factor: 12 : 18 becomes 2 : 3. To solve a proportion such as 2 : 3 = 8 : ?, find what keeps the two ratios equal - here the second ratio is the first times 4, so the missing value is 12.
