Order of Operations Worksheets

Print order of operations practice (PEMDAS / BODMAS): parentheses, exponents, and multi-step expressions, with an answer key.

Printable Order of Operations Worksheet

Work left to right, but follow the order: Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication and Division (left to right), then Addition and Subtraction (left to right). The answer key prints separately.

A Few Worked Examples

Problem 1: do multiplication first — 3+(4×2)=3+8=113 + (4 \times 2) = 3 + 8 = 11.

Problem 16: exponent first, then multiply, then subtract — 2×325=2×95=185=132 \times 3^2 - 5 = 2 \times 9 - 5 = 18 - 5 = 13.

Problem 20: parentheses, then exponent, then divide — 100÷(2+3)2=100÷25=4100 \div (2 + 3)^2 = 100 \div 25 = 4.
